Méditerranée Évasion is delighted to welcome your pets aboard our private boats for most of our excursions, so you can share unforgettable moments with your four-legged companions on the French Riviera. To ensure the safety, comfort of all passengers, and compliance with maritime regulations, we have established clear rules regarding the presence of pets on board. Please read the conditions below carefully before booking.
General Conditions for Pets on Board
- Allowed Animals: Pets (dogs, cats, small domestic animals) are welcome on our excursions, except for the Fireworks at Sea excursion, due to potential noise and stress for animals.
- Limited Number: Maximum of 2 pets per boat (up to 6 people) to ensure space and comfort for all.
- Size and Behavior: Pets must be well-behaved, non-aggressive, and of a size suitable for the boat’s space (maximum recommended weight: 25 kg per animal). Owners are responsible for their pet’s behavior.
- Prior Notification: Inform us of the presence of a pet when booking via the Reservation Request form or by phone (+33 6 63 42 66 81). Specify the breed, size, and any specific needs.
- Additional Fees: No extra charge is required for pets, but any damage caused to the boat (e.g., scratches, soiling) will be charged to the owner.
Safety and Comfort Rules
- Mandatory Leashing During Navigation: Pets must be leashed or harnessed to a secure point on the boat throughout navigation to prevent falls or disruptions to the skipper.
- Designated Area: A specific area on board will be assigned for your pet, with a mat or blanket provided by us if needed. Pets must not access dining areas (e.g., aperitif table) for hygiene reasons.
- Life Jackets: Owners must provide a suitable life jacket for their pet (not provided by Méditerranée Évasion). Wearing a life jacket is mandatory for pets during swimming or snorkeling stops.
- Behavior: Pets must not disturb other passengers or the skipper. In case of inappropriate behavior (e.g., excessive barking), the skipper may request additional restrictions or an early return to port
Specific Restrictions
- Prohibited During Fireworks: For safety and animal welfare reasons, pets are not allowed on the Fireworks at Sea on the French Riviera excursion due to loud noises and potential stress from pyrotechnic explosions.
- Swimming and Snorkeling: Pets may participate in swimming stops if actively supervised by their owner and in compliance with the skipper’s instructions. Snorkeling activities must remain safe for all.
- Dining: Pets must be kept away from areas where meals or aperitifs are served, in accordance with our Category III/restaurant license. Owners must provide their own water or food bowl for their pet.
Owner Responsibilities
- Hygiene: Owners must clean up any waste or soiling caused by their pet (e.g., excrement, fur). Waste bags must be brought by the owner.
- Health: Pets must be in good health, vaccinated, and treated against parasites (fleas, ticks). A veterinary certificate may be required if needed.
- Liability: Owners are fully responsible for any material damage or injuries caused by their pet to the boat or other passengers.
- Equipment: Bring a leash/harness, pet life jacket, water bowl, and any accessories necessary for your pet’s comfort.
Legal Compliance and Safety
- Our skippers adhere to maritime regulations (pets must not interfere with navigation or onboard safety).
- Méditerranée Évasion reserves the right to refuse boarding of a pet or modify the excursion without refund in case of non-compliance with these regulations.
